Review: Mini Comics Included

By Reboot

Today I review Fifth World Studios' Mini Comics Included.  This is the brain child of comic industry veterans Tim Seeley, Steve Seeley, and Michael Moreci with various artists and encompasses 6 separate 16 page mini comics.

This started out as a Kickstarter project back in March.  This project was a nail-biter but in the end received the funding it needed.  If you look over the page you can see why.  This is the kind of fun, original project that Kickstarter was designed to encourage.

Mini Comics Included is a throwback to 80's style mini comics that came with certain action figures.  And they all have names that fit the style like Superbeasts, Omega, Colt Noble and Prime-8's.  The stories for each comic fit the time period and style well too.  You'll find little snip-its of bigger and greater worlds written with the whimsy and optimism of an 80's cartoon like He-Man with the charm and camp of a dime store novel.

It becomes very obvious from reading these comics that everyone who worked on it thought long and hard about the worlds they were creating and they fleshed them out well beyond what we actually see.  This helped allow me and anyone else who reads this to jump right in to a fully realized world.  They get you to care about the characters and the world they set up right away, and leave you wishing you had more to read while being satisfied with what you just experienced.

For those of you who didn't pledge to the Kickstarter campaign, you can buy all 6 for $10 through Fifth World Studios and all of the issues will be signed.  Copies begin shipping this month so get on this!  It's an unbeatable price for comics jam packed with fun and nostalgia made by people that get it and know how to make you get it too.  Do yourself a favor and add Mini Comics Included to your collection.
