Toy Review: “Mythic Legions: Advent of Decay” Jjuno the Crusher

It's time for the latest toy review from Matthew and me. This time it's Jjuno the Crusher from Mythic Legions: Advent of Decay line by the Four Horsemen.

Just look at that hair and face and exceptionally large weapon she's holding. She's pretty badass.

Unboxed: Yellow Submarine "All Together Now" 4.5" Figures by Titan Merchandise

If you haven't guessed it by now, Titan Vinyls are some of my favorite items to review. There's so much variety and style to them. I love the franchises they get, even if I don't know all of them. The work they do is so creative. Take the Beatles and the Yellow Submarine waves. I never would have thought I'd want a line like this, but I do. It's just so much fun, and Matt and I had a chance to review the Yellow Submarine "All Together Now" deluxe black and white figures from Titan Merchandise.

TTPM Holiday Showcase 2018

I recently had the opportunity to go to the TTPM Holiday Showcase. It's a great event, where you get a sneak peek at some of the great toys that will be available for the holiday season (that includes October). Here are a few of the standouts.

Hairdorables from Just Play, LLC

This is a mind boggling collection. These insanely cute figures come in a blind box. On the one hand, this is a dream come true for a blind box nerd like me. On the other, my wallet is weeping. As you can see, there are so many to collect, with different degrees of rarity. They all have their own personalities and looks. If  was younger, I'd be doing all my chores and more to try and earn money to get all of these.

Take Along Haunted House from Playmobil

Playmobil has really upped their game over the years. Their stuff has always been fun, but now they're appealing to older collectors with their Ghostbusters and How to Train Your Dragon collections. And then you have something like this. It's not associated with a franchise, but it's something you want to play with. For more details about this, check out the review I did with Matt from NerdNewsToday.

Kidrobot Megatron & Cobra Commander Vinyl Review

One of the awesome goodies Matt at Nerd News Today and I were able to acquire at Toy Fair 2018 is the Kidrobot Megatron and Cobra Commander vinyl figures based off of IDW Comics "Transformers VS GI Joe" comic series by Tom Scioli and John Barber.

I'm not as familiar with the comic series, but I'm a big Transformers and GI Joe fan. I wouldn't have initially thought to combine Kidrobot with these franchises, but I was wrong. I love this style, and the boxes alone make me want to display them somewhere. Watch the video to see the rest of our thoughts on this.

Toy Fair ‘18: Mezco Toyz Booth Sneak Peek Part 1!

We've had a crazy and amazing time at Toy Fair! One of our favorite booths to spend time in is Mezco Toyz.

Known best for their Living Dead Dolls and One:12 series, Mezco also has a great collection of horror movies items. Below are highlights of their One:12 horror figures and Burst-A-Boxes. The Burst-A-Boxes are particularly fun, because only Mezo would take an already creepy item, such as the Jack-In-A-Box and make it creepier.  Take a look, and be sure to come back tomorrow to check out Part two!

Toy Review: Playmobil's Ghostbusters 2 Egon Spengler

In the lead up to Toy Fair, we got a great chance to play with some Playmobil!  Most importantly, I got a chance to play with a slime-splattered Spengler!

Unboxed: Lego "Ninjago" Movie Mini-Figures

I think I've spoken about this before, but I have a serious minifig addiction. If I could, I'd have an army of minifigs lined up all around my home. Luckily, I don't have enough space (or money) to do that, but whenever I get the chance, I have a tendency to buy as many blind bags as I can.

Ninjago is a little weird for me. I don't really know the franchise. I've only watched a little of the show, and I've seen most of the movie. I was going to initially pass up on these blind bags, but then I saw what was included in this wave, and I was done.

I grabbed Matt from Nerd News Today, and the rest is history. Here's what happened.

Toy Review: Captain Phasma & Finn LEGO Brickheadz

As a palate cleanser from the Rick and Morty debacle, Matthew from NerdNewsToday and I decided to have some fun and put together a couple of LEGO Brickheadz. Captain Phasma and Finn are part of the Star Wars collection of Brickheadz. Rey and Kylo Ren complete the set of four.

We filmed this immediately after completing the Rick and Morty set, and to be completely honest, I was still a bit wrecked from that, but I love these Brickheadz. I find them weirdly therapeutic, and because of that, my collection keeps growing. Check out the video and see what I'm talking about.

Toy Review: McFarlane Toys Rick & Morty "Spaceship & Garage" Construction Set

Matthew from NerdNewsToday and I are back with the grand finale of our Rick and Morty construction sets by McFarlane Toys adventure. Adventure is I think the best way to describe it, because there have been many ups and downs regarding this series.

And then we get to this. The largest set of the line, the Spaceship and Garage. 293 pieces. As you can probably tell from the thumbnail, a little stress might have been involved. Due to the nature of the set instructions, it's really hard for two people to try and work on this set at the same time, so Matthew let me handle the construction. Emotions were involved. Lots of emotions. So, buckle up, strap in, and watch as I descend slowly into madness as I attempt to put this set together.

If you want to know what happened after the cameras turned off, sound off in the comments and I'll reveal the rest. I hope you enjoyed my pain.

Toy Review: Playmobil "Ghostbusters 2" Peter Venkman Figure

As you know, Playmobil launched a Ghostbusters line of playsets, which Matthew from NerdNewsToday and I reviewed. You can find those here, here, here, here, here, and here. Well, Playmobil is back with more. This time, it's Ghostbusters 2, and we are reviewing Peter Venkman.

Happy Birthday LEGO!

That's right, LEGO turns 60 today!  It's amazing to hear it because this company hasn't really changed over the decades. This brick has been loved for generations past, and generations to come.

Looking back at the company, LEGO Group founder Ole Kirk Kristiansen launched the first bricks called Automatic Binding Bricks in 1949.  In 1953, the name was changed to LEGO  or “Mursten” which is Danish for LEGO bricks.  The original bricks were hollow underneath, so they had limited clutch power unlike the bricks today.  LEGO's early years had color bricks available that were white, red, yellow, blue and green.  LEGO has definitely grown since!  Check out this video to see the company in its early years!

Jurassic Park Turns 25!

It’s amazing to me how time passes. I was starting to wonder why I was seeing so much Jurassic Park  (not Jurassic World, but Park specifically) items in my inbox.  Then I realized this year is the 25th Anniversary of Jurassic Park

I remember being a kid and going to see Jurassic Park with my family it was actually a doubleheader with a young Robert Downey Jr. movie Heart and Souls. Even young me was thinking "wow this is such a weird combination" but why would I care because dinosaurs. Who doesn’t love dinosaurs. Even when we went to see Jurassic World both Wysefyre and I got so excited because dinosaurs. You can’t get upset when you get to see dinosaurs just running around like they’re still actually around.

That’s why despite the fact that I’m dreading that this is the 25th anniversary (I feel so old!), I’m excited to see more Jurassic Park toys come out. Now I know I will see so much when I go to Toy Fair NY a few weeks but the first few pieces to be announced from different companies has me excited already.

Unboxed: Japanese Blind Bag Random Figure Review Rumble 1

I don't know Japanese toys at all. Kotobukiya is probably the brand I know best. I like Japanese toys when I see them, but I just don't spend time with them. Which is precisely why Matthew from NerdNewsToday put together a Japanese version of the Blind Bag Random Figure Review Rumble 1. Yeesh! Talk about a mouthful. If you have any suggestions as to a new name, sound off in the comments. Otherwise, enjoy!

Unboxed: Fisher-Price Thomas & Friends Minis Blind Bags

When NerdNewsToday's Matthew approached me about teaming up for these toy review videos, I didn't know what to expect. Of all the different toys I thought we might review, you know who I didn't think of? Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends. But here we are.

First seen at last year's Toy Fair, these Fisher-Price minis are not what you'd expect. How do you take an established show and create a bunch of minis that kids will keep begging their parents to get more of? Simple. You create a ton of variants. And  that's what they did.

What's also great about the minis is you can get franchise versions as sets. They have DC Comics and my favorite, the Power Rangers. But we're here to discuss blind bag minis, so here we go.

It's Mezco's One:12 Day!

That's right, it is January 12th aka One:12!  Mezco Toyz is using this opportunity on their blog to showcase their additions to the line in 2017, which have been impressive.

They added quite a few different characters in the past year, including hits like The Flash, Harley Quinn, Deathstroke. and Deadpool.  But none of those are as cool as my favorite 2017 addition to the One:12 Collective....

Toy Review: Funko ReAction "Ripley & Power Loader VS Alien Queen" Aliens three-pack

For this video, Matthew at NerdNewsToday and I decided to take a look at the Ripley and Power Loader vs. Alien Queen 3-pack from Funk ReAction.

If you've watched any of our other videos, you know we have issues with Funko, yet we keep coming back. Here's why: we want them to succeed. So we keep trying to find superior Funko products. Where does this stack up on the Funko meter? Watch and find out.

Unboxed: Blind Bag Random Figure Review Rumble 1

So this is how it goes - several random bags enter the ring. All bags are opened. The mastermind behind NerdNewsToday, Matthew, and I review the items. We determine our favorites.

I had no clue what was in any of these, but would I do it again? Heck yeah! This may be one of the most fun ways to play with blind bags/boxes.

As always, we take suggestions about things you think we should review. Sound off in the comments.

Toy Review: McFarlane Toys "Evil Rick and Morty" Construction Set

Today, Matthew at NerdNewsToday and I are going to attempt to put together the Evil Rick and Morty construction set from McFarlane Toys. One of the things I like about this set is Evil Rick and Morty. It's as simple as that. I usually enjoy evil dopplegangers, and Rick and Morty delivered. As for how easy or difficult it is to build the set, watch on.

Toy Review: McFarlane Toys - Rick and Morty "You Can Run But You Can't Hide" Construction Set

Of all the sets, Matthew at NerdNewsToday and I have been and will review of McFarlane Toys Rick and Morty construction set, this is the one I wanted to do the most. Nightmare of Elm Street is my jam. Freddy Kruger is my horror movie bae. Yes, I know how horrible he is, but no character has messed me up quite like Freddy, and I appreciate him for it. So, when Rick and Morty created their Freddy knockoff, Scary Terry, I was happy. When McFarlane Toys came out with the "You Can Run but You Can't Hide" Scary Terry construction set, thrilled and vowed to get my hands on it. And manhandle it I did.

Is this set a great deal or is it waiting to catch fire as AiME Johnson bumps into it? Find out as Matthew from NerdNewsToday and I bust it open and put it all together.
