Mezco One:12 Collective Presents Conan the Barbarian

Mezco's latest addition to the One:12 Collective has been revealed. They're giving us Robert E. Howard’s legendary character, Conan The Barbarian; based off of Frank Frazetta’s paintings.

From recreating Frank Frazetta’s ‘The Barbarian’ painting, to readying Conan for a long trek across the snow peaked mountains of his homeland, to an epic Hyborian Age battle, the One:12 Collective this Conan figure includes a bounty of weapons, accessories, and outfitting to create many distinct looks for display.

The fearsome warrior is outfitted in an interchangeable loincloth and includes a removable crossbody battle axe harness, removable cape that drapes freely, belt that can hold his sword sheaths and dagger, and mid-calf boots.

Barbarian of the far north, Conan was born on a battlefield and became a respected warrior by the age of 15. Traveling throughout the world, Conan has been a thief, outlaw, mercenary, and pirate. Motivated by his own survival, power, and enrichment, Conan will do whatever it takes to rise to the top.
 

Mezco's One:12 Collective Brings Us the Best Movie Batman (Finally)

The day is here. The day I have been waiting for since Toy Fair last year. Today, Mezco has announced the pre-order for the One:12 Collective Batman 1989 Edition. I can't tell you how excited I am for this. Keaton is my favorite movie Batman, (Kevin Conroy is the GOAT), and I love how he's really been getting his due these past few years.

Per Mezco:

The One:12 Collective Batman – 1989 Edition features an all-new seamless body designed with an internal skeleton armature that is durable yet highly posable. Included are three cowled head portraits – one with movable eyes, achieving a new level of realism for the One:12 Collective.

Batman is outfitted in his iconic Batsuit from the film which features advanced body armor – strong enough to deflect bullets and break fists. A magnet in his collar allows him to switch between two leather-like capes – one with an integrated posing wire and one that drapes freely. The bat insignia sits front and center as a reminder to those that cross his path.

The dark vigilante comes prepared to protect Gotham City with a vast array of film accessories, as well as some unused designs, including: a gauntlet that attaches to his forearm and rotates open, a speargun that attaches to his utility belt via a magnet, multiple batarangs, and a time bomb.

After witnessing the senseless murder of his parents at the hands of a criminal, Bruce Wayne becomes Batman to rid Gotham City of crime and corruption.

My Singing Monsters Series 1 Toy Review - Plant Island

I can't begin to tell you all how excited I am for this review. For the uninitiated, My Singing Monsters started as a mobile app. You hatch eggs, and the monsters that come out each sing a melody. The more monsters you have, the fuller the song is. There are several different islands that play different songs. It's a lot of fun, and allows for a lot fun.

Toy Review: Playmates Ben 10 "Cannonbolt" Action Figure

This time around Matthew from NerdNewsToday and I are diving  into the world of Ben 10.

If you're not that familiar with Ben 10, it's the story of a 10 year old boy, Ben Tennyson (see what they did there?), who discovers a magical device that allows him to turn into ten different types of aliens. With the help of his family, he fights evil as those aliens.

Currently playing on the Cartoon Network, Ben 10 has been around for over a decade. This is the most recent version. Brought to us by Playmates, today, Matthew and I are going to take a look at Cannonbolt.

Captain Picard Master Series 1:6-Scale Articulated Figure Pre-Ordering to be Released

 

"At noon PDT, Quantum Mechanix Inc. (QMx) will release for pre-ordering the much-anticipated Captain Jean-Luc Picard Master Series 1:6-scale articulated figure. The figure is expected to ship in May.

Our Captain Picard figure has more than 30 points of articulation, allowing him to be displayed in a number of dynamic poses. He features an authentically styled Star Trek: The Next Generation uniform with simulated leather boots and detailed 24th century accessories, including a phaser, communicator badge, tricorder, Personal Access Display Device (PADD) and the Captain’s Earl Grey tea cup. He also comes with multiple hands for a variety of poses and gestures.

 Picard will be priced at $179.95. An exclusive version of the figure will only be available directly from qmxonline.com and select international distributors. This version will feature an additional phaser rifle and an extra set of hands for holding it. The exclusive edition Picard figure will be priced at $199.95.

The Captain Jean-Luc Picard Master Series 1:6-scale articulated figure is one of many Star Trek products QMx will be releasing in 2017 that celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Star Trek®: The Next Generation."

McFarlane Toys Teams with Video Game Giant TITANFALL

Tempe, Ariz. – February 10, 2016– –Comic book icon and toy creator Todd McFarlane announced today that his company, McFarlane Toys has partnered with the video game powerhouse Respawn Entertainment to produce a line of action figures based on the upcoming game, Titanfall 2. The first Titanfall was announced in 2013 and was immediately heralded as a game changer for the first-person-shooter genre of video games. During its reveal at E3 that year, it won over 60 awards including six E3 Critic’s awards: Best in Show, Best Action Game, Best Original Game, Best Console Game, Best PC Game and Best Online Multiplayer. McFarlane Toys is well known for delivering top quality figures for the gaming genre including: Halo, Assassin’s Creed and Metal Gear franchises. The "Weird Al" Figure We've Been Waiting For is Coming!

Yesterday, "Weird Al" Yankovic and NECA Toys announced via social media that "Weird Al" will be getting his very own action figure! 

Coming in at 8", the figure will feature tailored fabric clothing, similar to the toys that helped define the '70s, have two interchangeable heads, so you can go from classic Al to modern Al, and will include a mic and accordion. 

I am ridiculously excited about this. NECA has been killing it lately with their nostalgic figures. Home Alone, Nightmare on Elm Street, Contra, and now, "Weird Al"! 

The expected release date in May 2016. Who else plans on getting one?

Toy Fair 2013: Mattel's got a Super Secret!

Yesterday at Toy Fair, I got a chance to see Mattel's new movie masters line of Man of Steel Action Figures.    There were four figures on display, plus one in the packaging.  Sadly, we weren't able to take any pictures, but I'm gonna try to describe them for ya.
