Happy 3rd Birthday [IGH]!!!

That right, we have been around for three whole years!  It's kinda crazy to think it has been three years when only yesterday Wysefyre and I were sitting down and working on that first post.  So long ago and yet it was almost yesterday.

This past year has seen our family grow with the contributions of BatHobbit, MisterJackal, Poohbear and Reboot.  We have also seen our fanbase explode, with tons of new geeks reading or meme hunting.  Having you all on this crazy, wild ride makes it all worth it!  Still, we like input.  Tell us what you wanna see, or have us cover or film poorly with our phones and I can promise we will try to make it happen.  (Yoda was wrong, there is try.)

Like every year, our anniversary is a precursor to NYCC, and we shall be there!  Which means another con in a bag, so keep that in mind when you send us suggestions! [insertgeekhere] has been a blast to be a part of and I speak for the whole [IGH] fam when I say we can't wait to see what we come up with next!

Holy Frak! We Survived Another Year!!!

We're two years old today. Where did the time go? This year has been one heck of a ride. It's been full of ups and downs, and through it all, we've had you, the people who support us. To celebrate, I made this:

Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark Turns 1!

I never thought this would happen but Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark is celebrating its anniversary... sort of. It's been one year since STOD opened on Broadway, but that was version 1.0. Version 2.0 premiered June 4th. Either way, congrats on making it this far.

I was fairly vocal about how flawed STOD was in its original incarnation, and I'm yet to see 2.0, but after sitting in on the STOD panel at NYCC, and reading many, MANY reviews from people I trust, I'm happy for the Spidey team. They took what had originally been a disaster and apparently fixed it. This kind of situation is so rare on Broadway, it's kind of amazing.

Thanks to the success of the show, the producers can make plans to recoup the investment and turn a profit. A recent New York Times article spoke with the producers of the show and a few of the ideas thrown around were adding new scenes and a new musical number each year and expanding their radio campaigns in all across the US. There are no plans to take the show overseas, but it is an eventual possibility. I don't know if I like these ideas, but I admire their willingness to be creative, and I think I've finally come on board the STOD train. I'm sincerely rooting for them.

If you haven't seen it yet, give it shot. One of the people who told me he loved the show was Amazing Spider-Man writer, Dan Slott. I ran into him at the STOD panel, and he couldn't stop talking about how much he loved it. I believe he's seen it 4 times already. If you're going to take anyone's advice on seeing the show, take his.

Holy Crap, it's our 1 Year Anniversary!

Wow, the past year has gone so fast. It's hard to believe that a year ago, we were sitting in Getsuyobi's living room writing our first post. Now, we have reached geeks on 6 continents (We still need Antarctica! Damn penguins!) and in 109 countries!

Looking back, it is amazing to see everything that has happened in the past year. I don't think that Wysefyre and I had any idea what we were getting into when we started IGH.  Really, I mean that.  Despite the craziness, I am so happy that we jumped in feet first.  IGH has been a fantastic ride with cool prizes.  This blog has brought more to me than I ever thought possible. Because of this, I have made friends in all corners of world, done things I never would have dreamed of, and got to share it with all of you.

Thank you all for taking part of this crazy journey that we are on. I hope that you have had as much fun as we have, and that you will stick with us. Make sure that you tell us what you want to see. We love to try new things, share our experiences and always hearing from fans.

Going forward, we have a lot in the works, especially about New York Comic Con. We hope that you will join us, which is why one lucky fan will win a 3-day pass for NYCC (thanks to those awesome peeps at NYCC)!  NYCC is the East Coast home for everything geeky and fun!  This year they will be featuring the minds behind the DC 52!  This fan will also get a chance to meet us (if they want, we aren't picky). Check out our facebook page for the entry form

Sorry but Travel and Lodging are not included.  Just the 3-day ticket.  US residents only so it gets to them on time.  Contest ends September 20th.
