Today I'm reviewing the first of Dark Horse Comics' new wave of super hero titles, Captain Midnight #0 written by Joshua WIlliams with art by Victor Ibanez and Pere Perez. Dark Horse had announced not long ago that it would be launching more super hero titles, despite the fact that they were starting to focus more on horror comics again and doing them fairly well. I was not excited about this shift for them and think they shouldn't be doing this at all, but I thought that it was important to give it a shot.

A New Superhero from Dark Horse
Are you burnt out on the same old superheroes from the same old comic companies? Yeah, me too. Well, here is a preview of the new hero from our friends at Dark Horse Comics! Coming January 23rd from the brains of Dennis Hopeless and Mike Norton, get ready for The Answer!
From Dark Horse Comics:
Devin McKenzie is an insomniac librarian with a knack for solving puzzles. The Answer! is a masked crime fighter with a giant exclamation point on his face. Aside from a penchant for late nights, they share nothing in common . . . until both become embroiled in a deadly mystery surrounding a sinister motivational speaker!

Some Girls Like Superheroes, Some Like Princesses
This video was uploaded in May of this year but has recently been getting a lot more attention because of the holidays. This is Riley. She's maybe four years old, and she understands that there is a serious problem with gender stereotypes. Listen to her as she rants against toy makers and their desire to push princesses on girls and superheroes on boys.

Sunday Links for October 23
Well, we are slowly recovering from the insanity of NYCC. Make sure that you keep up with everything we learned at con by constantly checking out our New York Comic Con page. I didn't catch a lot of news this week, but here are some of my top highlights:
MyTake Radio is holding Brawling for Boobies, a gaming fundraiser for Susan G. Komen. They are holding xbox 360 gaming sessions all week, so signup now!

I heard the sad news about the cancellation of Alpha Flight. Personally, I don't think having Fear Itself happen so earlier in its run helped its chances at all.

If you are still hoping for some brand-new ectoplasmic fun, you may be out of luck. It looks like Ghostbusters 3 is never gonna happen.

Everyone knows about Occupy Wall Street, and like it or not, it is getting bigger. So big in fact, that even fictional characters are taking a stand.

Until next week....
