Yes Really, Here is BOOM! Studios Newest Music Video!

That's right, in celebration of the upcoming original series GRASS KINGS by Matt Kindt (Mind MGMT) and Tyler Jenkins (Peter Panzerfaust), BOOM! Studios released the music video “Kingdom of Grass.”   

This is an original song and video by Godkin, the band that has Tyler Jenkins on vocals and guitar.  They loved making this music video so much that Godkin is now working on an entire album of songs that exist alongside the Grass Kings world.

First Look at Marvel's Infinity War!!!

That's right, earlier this evening Marvel Studios posted a short film about the start of Infinity War Part 1.  They went into production about two weeks ago, and already we are getting a small taste.

Get Your Hands on a Tiny Groot!

Nope, this isn't a joke! You can get your hands on that tiny but powerful tree thanks to Entertainment Earth. That's right, next up in their line of Pin Mates is the weirdest collection of heroes anywhere, Guardians of the Galaxy! The whole team jumps off the movie screen and can easily hang out in your home.  But really, it's all about Groot.  Best part is that all the Pin Mates are completely wooden, so this Groot is actually a tree.  Well, sorta.

It's here! And OMG! 

I haven't really been paying much attention to what's been going on with Iron Fist, because I don't know the character very well. I just knew I was going to watch it because of how strong Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage have been. I was wrong. I should have been paying more attention. I need to know more. March 17th can't get here soon enough.

Random Thoughts: Is Hogwarts Handicapped Accessible?

The weather's cold, I'm huddling under blankets, so I've decided it's time for my annual Harry Potter reread. I'm only up to Chamber of Secrets, and it hit me: Hogwarts is huge and old and full of stairs. How does someone with a physical limitation, like a wheelchair, leg braces, a cane, muscular issues, get around? Seriously, look at all those stairs. Those would be rough for an able-bodied person. What accommodations are there for the physically-challenged?

Sure, Firenze was able to teach Astronomy on the ground floor, but what about students? Yes, a simple glisseo spell could be used, but even that's a problem, because the school is tall. Ramps/slides would be steep. The student who needs it would probably have to work twice as hard to get up them. So what do they do? Are there special schools for them? Wouldn't that be kind of messed up if they did? Or are there spells to fix disabilities? Is that ethically questionable? Why do I now have all these questions? I feel like I need to tweet JK Rowling and ask for her thoughts.


Has this been answered in the other books? If not, how do you think they compensate?

This holiday season I got to help my nephew put together the WWE The Cell Playset. It’s a giant Hell in a Cell, and it’s definitely something.

Five Problems I had with Rogue One

New Year and New Me!  Supposedly, at least.  My New Years' resolution is to catch up on the things that I've missed. One of the most important things I needed to catch up on was finally seeing Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. I know, I know, it is long overdue.  So, I woke up early on January 1st to greet 2017, grabbed my breakfast candy, and headed to the first screening of the morning. 

Wow, Rogue One was a fucking fantastic film.  I truly enjoyed it.  It just worked so damn well. It gave fan service without being overbearing, added new info and depth to a world we already knew, and gave us plenty of action.  Frankly, it succeeded in every place The Force Awakens failed miserably.  

That being said, we both know you've seen the title of this post.  No movie is perfect, with the notable exception of the 1987 Masters of the Universe live action film. That movie is perfection incarnate and no one will ever change my mind.  I had five issues with the movie.  All of them are small issues, with only two barely relating to the plot and two relating to the credits.  So really, I'm practically nitpicking.  I leave these complaints to you, dear reader, to decide if they have merit.

Gold Comics are Announced for FCBD!

Today they announced the Gold Sponsor comics for Free Comic Book Day.  Yes, Free Comic Book Day isn't for 6 months but I don't care!  I'm excited and cannot wait!!!  

The complete listing of Gold Comics was revealed on The Hollywood Reporter, but only a few really caught my eye.  Just like always, Marvel and DC have books, but they are yet unrevealed in storytelling.  However, these two comics promise to be interesting and unique. 

Justice League Dark is Officially Announced!

Some of the best news to come out of New York Comic Con was the announcement about Justice League Dark, the next in the long line of DC Animated Films.  We caught a quick glimpse of the film at NYCC and it quickly became our favorite part of NYCC, especially with the news that Matt Ryan is reprising his fan-favorite character, Constantine!  Now, we've got the official details from Warner Bros. including the trailer!  Check out all the details after the break!

Review: Jade Street Protection Services #2

After a hiatus, Black Mask Studios' Jade Street Protection Services is back with issue #2! This comic was created by Katy Rex and Fabian Lelay with Katy on writing duty and Fabian on the art. Rounding out the team are Mara Jayne Carpenter coloring, Taylor Esposito lettering, and rising star Mags Visaggio editing. I got a chance to read it for this review, and now you get a chance to read this review.

For those of you who haven't read issue #1 yet, this is the story of five diverse teenage girls, Divya, Saba, Noemi, Kai, and Emma with magical abilities that are going to school to get better at being magical. The first issue gives a taste of all these characters and how they interact with each other and wraps up with them working together to get through a dangerous magical conflict.

The 2nd Reveal on BOOM! Studios Road to NYCC!
