QMx to Release Batman: Born of Blood Master Series Art Print

Just in time for the first appearance of Batman, the team over at Quantum Mechanix, Inc. is set to release a beautiful new print as a part of their Master Series program.

Per the press release:
"Commemorating the day the caped crusader first appeared on comic book stands (March 30, 1939), Quantum Mechanix Inc. (QMx) is announcing the first release of its Master Series fine art program with the Batman: Born of Blood art print, created by pop culture illustrator Doaly. Capturing the turmoil of the Dark Knight’s tragic origins, the limited-edition lithograph is printed on heavy, museum-grade metallic paper stock and embellished with an embossed QMx logo for authenticity and added exclusivity.
The Batman: Born of Blood art print measures 24” x 36” and is limited to a hand-numbered edition of 500. Priced at $49.95, it will be available directly from qmxonline.com and select retailers. On sale Tuesday, April 11th at 12pm PT, rolled copies will ship during the first half of May in sturdy, acid-free tubes."
It looks like QMx is off to a strong start. I can't wait to see what print they do next.

Celebrating 20 Years of Buffy: Buffy's Impact of Mental Illness

It's Buffy's 20th Anniversary and you're going to see tons of memories and reflections about the cast/crew and Buffy's impact on society and how amazing she is. Instead of repeating what many will discuss, I want to take a few moments to reflect on Buffy’s impact on me.

Like most people, high school was a strange time for me. Aside from the hormones and figuring out who I am as a person and navigating relationships and friends and all that fun stuff, I was also struggling with severe depression and anxiety. My mental illnesses caused me to miss a lot of opportunities and time. I honestly don’t remember large chunks of that period, but one thing I do remember is Buffy.

Review: Grass Kings #1

By Reboot

“Welcome to the Grass Kingdom. Where fools like you come to get their asses kicked.”

Reboot here again. Back so soon, I know. I’m a pretty big Matt Kindt fan though, so when I heard that he was writing a new comic, Grass Kings, at BOOM! Studios with Tyler Jenkins illustrating and Jim Campbell lettering, I wanted to review the first issue of this six part miniseries. Lucky for me [insertgeekhere] got a review copy. Get ready for some reviewing!

Review: Lumberjanes/Gotham Academy Trade!

By Reboot

Courtesy of BOOM! Studios
Hey everyone! Reboot here again. It's been a little while since I reviewed a trade paperback collection and what better way to jump back into that than with the big Lumberjanes/Gotham Academy cross-over from BOOM! Studios with DC Comics collecting issues #1 - 6!

Before I jump into it, there are quite a lot of names that should be mentioned so let's start with that. This limited series now collected in a trade paperback was written by Chynna Clugston Flores, penciled by Rosemary Valero-O'Connell, Kelly Matthews and Nicole Matthews, inked by Maddi Gonzalez and Jenna Ayoub, colored by Whitney Cogar, and lettered by Warren Montgomery.Lumberjanes was created by Shannon WattersGrace EllisNoelle Stevenson, and Brooke Allen.Gotham Academy was created by Becky CloonanBrenden Fletcher, and Karl Kerschl. While other people were also involved in bringing this book to life, this is the bare minimum number list of names of those who should be acknowledged before I continue.
