Video Friday! 7/29/11

Howdy all! Happy Friday! Here's what's been playing 'round the web.

In response to the recent Netflix price hike...

Netflix Relief Fund with Jason Alexander from Jason Alexander

This premiered at Comic-Con and has quickly become the movie I will do almost anything to get to see. Two words. Peter. Dinklage.

I just can't help it! I'm a sucker for 8-bit.

Look who's ba-ack!

And finally, in case you missed it (how could you miss it?!), The Guild is back!

Have a fantabulous weekend! See you next week!

Harry Potter Video Friday! 7/15/11

Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 2 opens today. It is a bittersweet moment that has been long waited for but now that it's here, many of us wish we had a little more time. Since we are celebrating Potter this week, it's only fitting that Video Friday be all about Harry. So here are some great vids I found this week.

This is a gorgeous rendition of The Game of Thrones theme, which I found via Ms. Felicia Day on Google+. It's moments like these I wish I still played an instrument. Jason Yang is simply wonderful.

It's about time someone had some fun with the NFL lockout.

Field of Dreams 2: NFL Lockout with Taylor Lautner from Taylor Lautner

This just became one of my favorite True Blood parodies. Bill and Sookie's accents are spot on. Thank you Geek Girl Diva for posting this.

Nathan Fillion wants to help you combat a terrible problem afflicting gamers.

Video Friday! 4/15/11

It's Friday and you know what that means... Videos! What does this week have store for us? Let's find out.

Remember VH1's Behind the Music? They covered many great and not so great musicians, but not necessarily the ones you wanted to see. Well, finally, a long underappreciated artist has gotten the due he deserves.

This is probably my favorite video of the week. A young girl was given the opportunity to join the 'Dark Side' and her response was not what was expected.

Here's a great interpretation of one of the best known themes in all of geekdom... or at least a lot of geekdom.

This vid has two great features to it: Sarah Silverman and Serenading Unicorn. Both funny and disturbing, it'll make you rethink interspecies relations. Enjoy!

Cashing in on the current trends is the sequel to the much loved movie, When Harry Met Sally. I think I'd be willing to see this in theater. How about you?

Hope you enjoyed this edition on Video Friday! Now get out and have some fun!

Video Friday!!!

Good day, gentle readers. It's time for another installment of Video Friday. Today I'll be offering a smattering of the more amusing and interesting videos I've come across on the web.

Did you know a new Ben and Jerry's flavor was recently introduced? On Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Wednesday evening, Jimmy debuted his flavor, Late Night Snack. It is a concoction of vanilla bean ice cream with a caramel swirl and fudge covered potato chip clusters. And just how did this come about? Last summer, Jimmy performed a musical tribute to the ice cream gurus with his "vocal group", Ladysmith Snack Mambazo. One thing led to another and ice cream magic was born.

Did you know Justin Bieber was on CSI? He played a most angry young man who eventually met with an untimely demise. But that's not the whole story. At least, according to some. Here is one man's theory on what REALLY happened.

How we handle rejection is one of the ways we can tell how one can handle life. Here a father shows his child a rejection letter. I think we can safely say this is one of the better ways to turn something unpleasant into something memorable.

Let's move on to something a little... darker. Dark side darker. We all know that Toyota commercial featuring the child dressed as Darth Vader. What if things were a little different? What if he really did have the power? Let's find out.

You've all heard about the Robocop statue that is going to be built in Detroit. Well, right before it was announced, the man himself, Peter Weller, made a statement to Detroit explaining why this needed to happen. It's because of this and the love and devotion of his fans that Robocop will watch over Detroit for years to come.

And finally, because I would like to leave you in the mood to get out and dance, here is a compilation of some of Sam Rockwell's finest dance moves. The man does like to move and thankfully, he does it well.

Fare thee well, gentle readers. Until we meet again.
